Know about KPSC (KAS)

The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) is the constitutional body responsible for recruiting State Civil Service officers in Karnataka. It plays a crucial role in selecting capable and qualified candidates for various administrative positions in the state government.

In 1921, the “Central Appointment Board” was constituted in the state to advise the Government and concerned authorities regarding the appointment of State Civil Service officers. Over time, this evolved into the present-day Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC).

The KPSC conducts competitive and departmental examinations to fill vacancies in Group A, Group B, and Group C posts. These include both Technical and Non-Technical positions across various state departments.

KPSC (KAS) Gazetted Probationers Examination

The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) conducts the Gazetted Probationers Examination to recruit Group A and Group B officers for the State Civil Services.

The Commission previously released the notification for Gazetted Probationers (2017-18 cycle) in January 2020. The notification for the upcoming cycle is yet to be officially released.

Candidates preparing for KAS must note that the examination pattern has been revised. Optional Papers have been removed from the KAS Mains Examination under the updated pattern.
